# 2 Going to Level-up as a good reader

I can consider myself as a good reader because I can read and I can understand what I read. When a teacher tells us to read about a poem or a very long story, I unboastingly can a get a big picture of what I am told read about. This is possible because I first scan the whole of the story. For instance, I move my eyes down the page to know what types of words are more dominant in that particular story. Or, reading first about the background of author is a usual big hint for me to understand that story better. Because most writers develop their write-ups through significant experiences in their lives, researching about authors is a great help to obtain the point or the main purpose of the writer that I am reading about.
Of course, because I am just a freshman student, it is no surprise that there are still many words that seem strange to me. I spare no time to look up the dictionary when I encounter words that are seemingly difficult to understand. Lastly, another reason why I consider myself as a good reader is that because I usually analyze for moral lessons of the story. If it is good, I try hard to be like it. If I think it is not acceptable, I warn myself to avoid it. This matters after all...
